Introduction
This collection of literary works consists of Lu Ho-jo’s writings published in The Taiwan Hsin Minpao during 1938-1940. The themes of these wartime works are about season change and customs in Taiwan. The fiction “Catalog of Seasons” centers on a Taiwan-Japan romance. The essay “3 Articles on Life in the Mountains” is based on his experience living in a Hakka mountain village. The essay “Father is Gone” describes a man’s characteristics and parent-child relationship. The last essay “A Racket” explores a young soul pursuing freedom. Except Chinese translation, this volume also contains images of original newspapers and related historical materials
