As a conference proceeding to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 228 Incident in 2017, this book comprises 10 papers that fall into four categories: (1) examining the 228 Incident from outside the island, (2) the role of Taiwan Province Work Committee and intelligence system before and after the incident, (3) the operation of the local government and National Assembly, and (4) from the 228 Incident to the emergence of the Taiwan independence movement.
