Introduction

This cartography work contains detailed annotations for a Qing Qianlong map of Taiwan along with a description of 14,000 Chinese characters. The map reflects the 1784 boundary redrawing, shown as the purple borderline, and the land reclamation policy along the mountain area before the outbreak of the Lin Shuang-wen revolt during 1786 to 1788. The original paper map is 657cm long and 62cm wide, now stored in the Palace Museum in Beijing.
