This oral history volume contains recollections of Mr. Kuo-hsiung Wang, who was in Taiwan’s coal mining industry for more than 30 years. He entered the headquarters of Ruisan Mining Company as a teenager in 1956, and after served in various positions, became manager of the Ruisan Coal Preparation Plant from 1973 to 1983. Later, he successively or concurrently headed the labor section, general affairs section, and public relations office. In this volume, he shares his experience improving the technology and management of the Coal Preparation Plant, and handling politics, labor disputes, and the aftermath of coal mining accidents, etc.
